Tech Lead

Barcelona, Remote - Spain, Santander
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

We are looking for a Tech Lead for our multi-tenant B2B SaaS platform, used by HR teams and by employees across the organisations we work with. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on development: you will keep contributing as a developer while helping shape the technical direction of the product, coaching the team and acting as the technical reference point for the business.

You will work closely with the Product Manager, our architecture specialist and the engineering team, with accountability for the final technical direction.

This is what you will do with us

  • Build alongside the team, with hands-on development making up around half of the role.
  • Lead decisions on the technical direction of the product, supported by our architecture specialist.
  • Lead technical analysis and design for new projects: explore options with the team and drive them to a clear decision.
  • Work with the Product Manager to turn business objectives into feasible technical plans, and flag delivery risks early.
  • Own quality and engineering practice: test strategy, quality gates, CI/CD, code review standards and technical documentation.
  • Manage technical risk and technical debt deliberately, with a plan to reduce them.
  • Own production incident response, monitoring, performance and our Azure setup.
  • Coach and mentor developers, identify skill gaps and lead the technical part of hiring.
  • Support the business technically and represent atwork in client and stakeholders meetings when needed.
  • Propose improvements to the product and to how we build it, including our adoption of AI.

How we work

AI tools support our developers in their day-to-day work and are integrated into how we build software. Keeping that setup growing is part of the team’s work, and in this role you will help lead it. If you are excited about AI and where it is heading, you will have room to run with it.

Location

  • Fully remote within Spain or hybrid in Santander or Barcelona, whichever suits you

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
  • Professional experience building and operating production web applications end to end, including time leading technically (typically 8+ years)
  • Strong .NET and Entity Framework skills, with solid SQL Server experience, including query performance work and data modelling
  • Extensive experience with a modern component-based front-end framework. We use Angular 21; depth in React, Vue or Svelte is equally acceptable
  • Architectural decision-making: service boundaries, data modelling, API design, and documenting trade-offs so decisions can be revisited
  • Demonstrated command of clean code, SOLID and testing methodology, and the ability to set test strategy and code review standards for a team
  • Comfort working with AI coding agents, and the discipline to review their output critically
  • Experience coaching developers, and the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
  • Pragmatic judgement, a high level of ownership, and composure during incidents and high-pressure situations
  • Fluent English and Spanish

Nice to have

  • Multi-tenant SaaS architecture and tenant isolation experience
  • Hands-on Azure (App Service, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Redis) and infrastructure as code with Terraform
  • CI/CD and release engineering: pipelines, quality gates, feature flags, rollback, and coordinating database with code changes
  • Azure DevOps (repos, pipelines)
  • Experience configuring agentic development environments such as Claude Code, agent instruction files, MCP and custom tooling
  • A product-oriented mindset and experience working closely with Product Managers

Tech stack

.NET 10 · Entity Framework · Angular 21 · Azure SQL Database · RabbitMQ · Azure (App Service, Managed Redis, Azure OpenAI, Key Vault, Storage) · Terraform · Playwright and xUnit · Azure DevOps · Claude Code
